Owner of CIB Mental Capacity Ltd is Craig Bayliss, a qualified Social Worker since 2003. Craig originally completed a BA (Hons) at the University of Surrey, Roehampton 2000 and completed a post graduate diploma / MA in Social Work at South Bank University, London 2003. He has also completed a BA (Hons) at Staffordshire University in 2005. Craig has worked in various Local Authorities. He specifically has assessment skills around learning disabilities, mental health, acquired brain injury, autism older people and people with varying cognitive impairments. In addition, he has worked at director level for a learning disability charity and has been a leader of Social Work practice, authorising DoLs and managing safeguarding teams, occupational therapists, acting as Principal Social Worker and managing large-scale Social Work workforces. Craig is registered with Social Work England and is a member of the British Association of Social Workers. In addition, Craig was subcontracted with another Capacity Assessment Organisation since 2013, completing over 120 assessments for them and over 500+ assessments in total. Craig leads on mental capacity training, rolling training out to Local Authorities across the West Midlands region.
Based in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Craig has been involved in a number of high profile mental capacity cases, has liaised with The Office of Public Guardian and been pivotal in some professional negligence claims, expert witness and Will disputes.
